HEALTHCARE AND CONGRESS

Re: “Wagoner: Feds must do more”, Aug. 11.
GM CEO Rick Wagoner is correct in asking Congress to do more to ease the healthcare crisis in this country, “Wagoner: Feds must do more”, Aug. 11. Both Michigan Senators had that opportunity when a bill aimed at allowing a myriad of health insurance policies to be offered in the country was introduced in Congress. These policies would enable the uninsured to purchase insurance they could afford thus limiting the drain that the uninsured are having on our healthcare system. Our Senators chose to keep the status quo, protect current insurers and allow the healthcare crisis to continue.
