This morning’s paper reported that THADDEUS McCotter, my REPUBLICAN representative in Congress has declared himself in the running for president of the
I don’t think he has a snowball’s chance in hell of getting the nomination so why is he running?
I will admit that I have voted for him in the past even though I had issues with some of his positions but there was no one else to vote for since the Democrats who opposed him were worthless.
McCotter seems to be an opportunist which most politicians are and stands up for any issue that will get him re-elected.
He supported Bush in the Iraq War when I was against it. He supported auto company bailouts even though his Republican cohorts were ALL against them. He even supported a pro-union bill when ALL his Republican buddies voted against it. In other words, he makes great arguments for his Republican / conservative views but then he votes against them and for that he wants the Republicans to nominate him to run for president?
One of his biggest negatives is that he is totally unknown in the country and what better way to get known is to run for president and get that media attention that he needs to maybe make a run next time?
