Israel has now invaded the Gaza Strip on three (3) fronts with tanks and ground infantry. There are a lot of protests and calls for a cease fire to spare the innocent Palestinian civilians BUT a very reasoned message is coming out about the necessity of the military actions against HAMAS because there is no other option.
Even my wife has started seeing the reality of Israel’s position. Hamas does not care about Jews or Palestinians otherwise they would want to end the slaughter. They fire rockets blindly trying to hit whatever is Jewish (schools are just fine).
The Jews sent cell phone messages to all Palestinians with cell phones warning them about impending attacks on sites with weapon storage facilities; they wanted to prevent collateral damage. They even warned a Hamas leader that his house will be bombed so get out and save yourself and your family. He refused and died together with his five (5) wives and numerous children.
Hamas is dedicated to only one thing and that is the destruction of Israel; no other options are on the table.
If Israel can destroy Hamas and join the Gaza Strip to the West Bank and introduce Arab peacekeepers that would prevent Gaza from reverting back to a terrorist Hamas state, a chance at lasting peace is possible.
So if that is the plan, Israel must finish off Hamas to the last man and not bow to world pressure for a cease fire; for the plan to work, Hamas must be eradicated anything short of that will mean more of the same for years to come.
I am not pro Israel or anti-Palestinian / Arab; I am a realist that wants the slaughter to end and if you identify the cancer that is causing the slaughter – burn it out with the root.
I also have to add the role of IRAN in all of this. They support Hamas and Hezbollah and want a “Shiite” domination of the area. The Sunni Arab countries are afraid of Iran’s influence and would support an Arab peacekeeping force in the Gaza Strip which would keep Iran out.
The matter is not simple but it can be resolved by determined people with the welfare of people (Jews & Muslims) as their main concern.
