ELECTION 2010: Michigan state politics...

As far as the elections in Michigan are concerned:

I am still 100% behind Snyder for governor. I feel Bernero is a union stooge that has a big mouth and nothing else. His attacks on Snyder are pure union bull like harping on the fact that Snyder did some business with China. I do a lot of business with China and you would be stupid not to since they will be the biggest economic power on earth pretty soon. We better start exporting something (goods) to China because right now we are mainly importing from China.

Unfortunately my wife and daughter cannot bring themselves to vote for a Republican even though I told them the left-leaning Free Press endorsed Snyder and that is saying something. My wife still leans socialist and my daughter cannot stomach Republican views on social issues even though I told her Snyder is not into that nonsense. Oh well, I at least I cancelled out one Bernero vote.

As for the Michigan Supreme Court race, wow did you see so much shit being thrown around for supposedly a “non-partisan” race? When all is said and done it is all about the trial lawyers who make their money suing companies and corporations and stand to make a lot of money if Democrats control the court and not so much if the Republicans control the court.

I did not like what sitting judge Elizabeth Weaver did a short time ago. She resigned / retired from the bench with the understanding that Governor Granholm will appoint a Democrat Alton Thomas Davis, who would then run in the 2010 elections; Weaver was a nominal Republican that voted Democratic.

Well, I don’t like those shenanigans and I don’t like trial lawyers much either, especially the ones that love to sue, sue and sue some more and the Democratic supreme court judges that allow them to keep doing just that. No, I prefer a conservative supreme court and that is why I am voting for MARY BETH KELLY and ROBER YOUNG for Supreme Court.

State Attorney Generals are politicians running for higher office. This time around we have David Layton (Democrat) and Bill Schuette (Republican) and I don’t care for either one. The only reason I am voting for Layton is that Schuette, just like his predecessor Cox, filed a law suite against Obama claiming the healthcare bill passed by Congress earlier this year is unconstitutional; Layton would drop the suite.

I feel that what Republican state attorney generals are doing is playing politics with our money; they have no business challenging the constitutionality of a law passed by Congress. As a state, we the people will decide if we like a law or not. So for no other reason, I am voting for LAYTON.

The Secretary of State position will go to either Ruth Johnson (Republican) or Jocelyn Benson (Democrat). I don’t care one way or another and the political ads in this race have been downright nasty and misleading. I am voting for BENSON because I think she is a smart young woman that may do the state some good and I do feel she will be running for higher office. Not that there is anything wrong with Ruth Johnson; I just feel Ruth is an older career politician and I felt we just needed some fresh blood to come into Michigan politics.

I voted to keep convicted criminals out of office for 20 years and yes, that means Kwame who vowed to run again for mayor and probably could get elected by Detroiters again without this law.

I also voted for a new state constitution because we need a new one and no, it will not be as expensive as the one in 1960 because now we have computers and the internet and writing a new constitution will be much cheaper than in 1960.

DON’T FORGET TO VOTE!
