I just finished ranting about the weather forecasters here in Detroit that predicted two (2) feet of snow, causing a panic, and all we got was 4-6 in my area and now the same idiots went home on the weekends saying nothing to worry about AND WE GOT DUMPED ON.
At least the WXYZ-TV weather caster said he should be wearing a paper bag on his head for missing the big snow dump of 6-8 inches that we got on Saturday.
The problem with being sooooooooo wrong is that the snow plow crews listen to them to alert them to impending snow storms so they can get out there on a timely basis. In this case, they were caught by surprise as we all were and had to rush out there; traffic was a mess but THANK HEAVENS IT WAS A SATURDAY.
In the old days, professional weather forecasters would study all the instrument readings and actually “predict” the weather based on those readings.
Now they just depend on a computer to read those instruments and the computer actually creates a “computer model” of the weather to come.
These highly paid weather people need to start using their own brains and not the computer’s “brains” and don’t blame the damn computers for being wrong…
