MICHIGAN: Pension tax protest in Lansing today...so?

Watching the local news today, I saw the seniors protesting Snyder’s tax on pensions. Some old lady got on her Facebook page and got all these seniors to come and protest.

My wife asked me…what do you want to say to these people…

I said that these pensioners are very lucky that Michigan has been so generous to them for all these years (never had a tax on pensions) because other states DO tax pensions.

Today, Michigan can no longer afford to be so generous and has to join all the other states that TAX pensions and have for years.

The pension tax will only apply to pensions over $45,000 and don’t forget that your Social Security Retirement payments will NOT be taxed.

These pensioners did not earn their pensions; their unions negotiated or went on strike to get them.

It is about time pensioners started paying something towards all the services they use that are currently being funded by other taxpayers like me.

Just because your’ retired does not mean you get a free ride on someone else’s dime especially when you are dragging in an income higher than most people’s.
