PROPOSAL 5: LIMIT NEW TAXES
Wow…this sounds like
a good thing to most people BUT…
The job of state
government is to levy taxes and pay for things and this proposal practically
blocks their ability to do that by requiring that they can only do that if voters
approve of a tax increase in November elections or the state legislature passes
the tax increase by a 2/3 majority.
Again, we elect our
representatives, senators and governor to do a job which included regulating
taxation. If we do not let them do their jobs why do we really need them?
I hate taxes just
like anyone but if we put tax bills on ballots; who in the hell do you think
will vote to have their taxes increased?
If we had no
taxation, we would have no state services and are you willing to do away with
police and fire protection?
This is a stupid
proposal and I cannot figure out who came up with it except people that want to
prohibit increased taxation…but I will find out.
Vote NO to messing with our constitution and limit what our government can or cannot do…that is
why we elect our own representatives…let them do their jobs…
